The art of Japanese cloisonné, found on a variety of objects (dishes, vases, sword mounts, etc.), is based on ancient Japanese techniques. A true hand-crafted savoir-faire, which still survives today.
To show you this very special technique, I'm sharing with you a documentary (in English) presenting shippo art from Yuuki Tamura's workshop in Owari Province.

The technique combines metalwork and painted glass for a unique decorative effect!
