Butsudan by Dai Benzaiten - Late Edo

Butsudan of Dai Benzaiten in gilded wood and polychrome.
Benzaiten depicted with the riken sword in her right hand, symbolizing wisdom, power over evil and the removal of ignorance, and a hōju jewel in her left, representing the power of Buddha's teachings.
Late Edo.
Perfect condition despite some traces of wear on the butsudan.
(n.b. small touch-up of glue at the base of the sword in the right hand for holding).
