Japanese ukiyo-e print by Mizuno Toshikata (1866-1908) from the series of 36 elegant Sanjûroku kasen.
"Woman of the Bunnan era [1444-1449] (Hisagi onna, Bunnan koro fujin)".
Beautiful composition showing a woman in traditional dress carrying a basket on her head, next to children and a small dog in a rural setting...
The image of a Japan of yesteryear and a sense of joie de vivre.
Very good condition, despite slightly darkened paper (traces, but no yellowing).

Dated 1893. Late Meiji 19th c.
