Wooden netsuke representing a shishi resting on a Chinese coin bearing the inscription "Kouki Tsuuhou" (Kangxi Tongbao) on its underside.
The stylized shishi has its tail raised, its coat represented by lines and its back carved with a flower and foliage.

A himotoshi runs through the legs and center of the piece to the underside.

Superb amber patina.
Very good condition.
Unsigned.
End-Edo period 19th c.
