Sake or tea cup (o-choko format) by Sudo Tadataka 須藤忠隆.
Sudo Tadataka is a contemporary Japanese ceramist from a family of Tōfūsha kiln potters. Trained at the Asagaya College of Art, he develops a singular universe blending fine drawing, fantastical motifs and often dreamlike forms.
His work combines several techniques: inlay, copper engraving, relief decoration... Each piece is thought of as a unique art object, more than as a simple utility by bringing a kōgei vision.
Based in Kasama, he exhibits and sells his work in various Japanese galleries, and I'm delighted to be able to offer you an example at Kogeiya, one of the first pieces in the gallery's kōgei arts and crafts section.
