Triptych of Japanese ukiyo-e prints signed Morikawa Chikashige (active 1869-1882) depicting kabuki theater actors and an eagle (rarely represented) in a scene with the thief Jiraiya.
The actors are the most important of the late 19th c.: Danjuro Ichikawa (x2) and Bandoya Tachibana.
Printed in oban tate-e format.
Very good condition, with no chips or missing parts.
Superb pattern work between matte and glossy play on the headpieces.
