Tenpo Saotome iron tsuba with stamped kanji motif - Late Edo

Large Saotome school tsuba tenpo in iron nagegaku gata with rounded maru mimi sukidashi border.
Hot-stamped surface (koku in) with motifs of kanji ideograms (未 is visible) and a few kakine' (垣根), intersecting line motifs symbolizing barriers and fences arranged around sacred places.
Edo 18th c.
