Wakizashi with shirasaya from the Edo period (17th/18th c.) but bearing the signature of Soshu Ju Tsunaie Saku 相州住綱家作 and dated Tenbun 12 Nen 8 Gatsuhi referring to the year 1543 (late Muromachi / Tenbun era).
A sword that was probably forged in the spirit of Tsunaie Saku (famous blade smith from Sagami province) on commission.
The sori (curvature) is deep, but the fineness of the tip (kissaki) lends a lightness and elegance to this beautiful wakizashi, which is in perfect condition.
(No bumps, marks or breaks in the cutting edge (hasaki).
Beautiful temper line (hamon) in niedeki gunome midare and jitetsu (forge pattern) in light itame hada.
